Tonya
"This class turned out to be so much more than I expected! It is yoga for my mind that keeps me centered and balanced. Making pottery seemed complex at first, but Diana is a very skillful teacher. They guide us through it step by step making it easy and logical. There is always something new to learn, something creative to try and something unexpected to discover within oneself.
It isn't the end result that brings me the most pleasure; it is the process of working with the clay that responds to my moods.
I feel accomplished to see how far I have come in three years. It is nice to use what I make too. Food tastes better in my pottery, even if it's an allusion." - Tonya
Tonya was a student from Sept. 2013 to early 2020. She does a lot of great surface decoration and carving on her creative constructions! It's great to see what she comes up with!
This has a wonderful shape.
Tonya made the ruins in these planters.
This bowl with holes (below) is sitting on stemmed glassware to raise it up for jewelry.
How unique and useful!
Tonya loves to make fish...
...and tiles! This shows only a small representation of her tile collection.
These two cat heads, and two bodies (both not shown) were first thrown on the wheel, then altered with cutting, reforming, adding clay, and carving: a significant project.
Tonya will assemble them at home with wires.

Tonya's daughter, Ira (age 14), comes with her mother (now and then) since Sept. 2013.
"Pottery is fun and a great way to make your imagination all come out on a piece of art. You get to interact with people and enjoy your love of creativity. If you're creative, love art, and great at interacting with people this is the place to go. My favorite part is shaping the clay to your liking and seeing how it turns out." -Ira
