2015-2018 younger students: Clara, Katelin, Cameron, Caroline, Ananda, Shannon & Abbie, Nate

Clara (age 8) came during the spring of 2015 and then started again in 2016 and continued to 2017.

"Pottery is awesome!" - Clara (said in a sing-song voice)
"She comes home deeply happy. The pottery seems to "call her forth." - Kim, Clara's mother

Katelin is a 15 year old home-schooled student pursuing her interest in pottery.
She started in Sept. 2017 and stopped in March 2018. She did very well and became independent when throwing her pieces. I am proud of her.

In Nov. 2017 after getting her first group of finished pieces (first picture below),
Katelin texted me this:
"Thanks, I’m having a lot of fun. Thank you for showing/helping with everything!"

Cameron, age 9 when she started in November of 2017 (stopping for a time in Dec. 2018), is playful and hardworking. We have great conversations while we create together. She learned to make pottery on the wheel at first then got into carving pottery and making miniature animals.

Professor Llama...his head pivots. Cameron will all add a tail and fur at home.

Her dog, with head that pivots, and tennis ball.

She took this flower home unglazed to give as a gift to her grandma visiting from Norway.

Caroline (10) came Nov. 2017 and stopped coming here Feb. 2018.
These are some of what she made:

Ananda is my niece. She does pottery with her mom (my sister) and me now and then. I like this dog pinch-pot dish she finished in 2018, I think.

Shannon and Abbie, age 14

"We loved Debra's flexible teaching style and how quickly we learned from her. She was a great teacher, had an awesome personality, and was really easy to talk to. The workspace was nice and organized, making us feel welcome to come and work on our pots. We would recommend taking Debra's pottery classes, as they are a great experience!" -Abbie G. & Shannon F.

These young ladies came for 4 classes in August 2015 and glazed during a later class.

Nate, age 11, did his "senior" project on pottery (2015) and was excited to be able to work on a wheel...something he had wanted to do for years!

"Debra lets me experiment a lot, and that's how I learn the most.
The classes are really small, so you get a lot of individual attention." -Nate

"Nate has learned a huge amount about pottery during his time with Debra. He's rightfully proud of what he's created there, and his joy at lesson times is palpable." -Nate's mother
